Saint Mère Eglise / Utah beach

sme

We'll first visit the small town of Sainte Mère Eglise (first liberated on June 6th 1944) and then drive towards Utah Beach, walk on the beach and understand why this Landing was quite a success. After visiting the museum there, we’ll have lunch in a unique landmark restaurant, visited by many returning veterans throughout the years, called the Roosevelt café.

After lunch, we’ll stop in the quaint village of Sainte Marie du Mont, see traces of the battle on the town square and inside the beautiful church.
Upon leaving, we’ll see the very recent Memorial dedicated to the French Resistance and I’ll tell you about my father who was one of its active members during the German occupation.
