Pointe du Hoc / Omaha Beach
We’ll start the tour with the famous cliff scaled by US Rangers (on the morning of June 6th 44) and see the short moving film inside the visitor’s center. Lots of bomb craters and bunkers still visible…
Depending on the sea level (better to visualize the beach at very low tide to imagine what took place and why it got its name of “bloody Omaha” …) we’ll either first see Omaha beach and finish with a walk through the graves of the American military cemetery or vice-versa.
Omaha beach today….Peaceful and back to being the «Golden beach» but I still hear their moans when walking on the beach “Momy, momy, medic! God help me! I am too young to die….”
Let’s never forget their sacrifice !
